About

Louvre Photo treats the museum as a subject and a source of inspiration for photographers, from the early years of photography to recent commissions. The Louvre says it covers its artworks, galleries, open spaces, visitors and behind-the-scenes corridors.

Material comes from the museum's own archives and several French institutions, among them the National Archives and the Bibliothèque nationale de France. The show is part of the Ministry of Culture's Photography Bicentenary programme. Entry is included with a museum ticket.
